About

In 2004, Bajan Soca star Rupee introduced The Brewster’s Road Crew family to the wider world in his song “What Happens In The Party“, as he sang “See me with the Brewster’s Road Crew Posse…getting on wild and wassee…” However, the Brewster’s Road Crew had already been known throughout Barbados as a gregarious and energetic group who could be found partying robustly in any Crop Over fete till the wee hours of the morning.

The nucleus of the group was comprised of friends and family who worked and partied together many years ago. Over the years we have stayed close socially, despite following different career paths; all the while attracting others to the crew.

One night a DJ asked the group where they were from. The answer was simple, since a number of the members lived in or around a small road in Barbarees hill called Brewster’s Road. Henceforth, the crew from Brewster’s Road was known as the Brewster’s Road Crew.

Starting with a trip to Trinidad Carnival in 2001, we became well known on the Carnival and Crop Over circuits because of our energy, and our love for Soca music. It was because of this that we were encouraged by a few artistes and local deejays to start hosting our own events, which we began doing in 2003.

Formed in May, 2008, Brewster’s Road Crew Inc. is made up of a group of ten (10) dynamic individuals who, through hard work and perseverance, have been able to put ourselves in a position to offer what we believe will be the best parties for the Crop Over festival. We have been able to make our stamp on Crop Over throughout the years and we aim to continue to do so.

The Concepts for our parties, which are guided by our philosophy that we should promote the kind of parties that we would love to attend.  To that end, the features of our events that largely appeal to our patrons are those very elements that make us and our events unique. These include:

100% Soca Fetes – We believe that at Crop Over time the music of the season should be given prominence over all others. Hence, we are dedicated to promoting Calypso and Soca. Through the years we have built and maintained bonds with Calypsonians and Soca artistes, both local and regional, and we do what we can to help promote the genre. Calypso and Soca is not just a theme for us, it is a love and a passion.

Partying Til’ Morning – Many songs speak about partying til’ morning and not going home. We have always tried to incorporate that as a feature of our events.

Affordability – Part of our appeal is the affordability of our entire party experience. This has been a focus of ours throughout the years. Like everyone else, we have been hit with hard times, but with the help of our sponsors we are confident that we can continue to provide prices that our patrons will find comfortable.

A relaxed atmosphere – Any and everyone can feel comfortable partying with us. For instance, we don’t have a dress code so you are welcome to come in a suit and tie or slippers and shorts.  We don’t mind what you wear, we only ask that when you turn up you are wearing something.

Our Commitment to The Community – As we grew in popularity and as our sponsorship grew we were able to fulfill another of our aims; to use our success as an opportunity to give back to the community. Previous donations have been made to the Child Care board and to several Telethons. We hope, as our patronage grows, to be able to increase our efforts to contribute to charitable organisations and to further endorse community projects.

And, finally, we have a special guest every week…the spinning pooch pig, named what else but… Arnold – This has been a massive hit with our patrons and we will do our best to ensure that Arnold features at each of our events this year. What could really be better than a serving of ‘propah pork’ and sweet Soca all night long?
